Our story starts here, my favorite place in the world—my bed. I love that feeling first thing in the morning when I wake up with plenty of time to spare, well-rested and wrapped up tightly from my neck to my pink toenails in my fluffy comforter, like a baby bird in a nest or the warm stuffing in a burrito. Ahh, burritoooos! Well, so much for sleeping in. Now I’m hungry! Guess I’m gonna have to leave my cocoon and shuffle off to my second-favorite place—anywhere with food!
Slipping from the warmth of my bed into my soft Re:Zero pj’s, I suddenly remember the bizarre dream I had last night. There were mind-controlled armies, kidnappings, human-sized mousetraps, french fry catapults, high-speed skateboard escapes from crazed mobs, dangerously ravenous sorority girls, mad scientists, and a kid with a direct line to God. That was weird as hell, and so vivid it felt more like a premonition than a dream. I guess I probably should skip the late night kombucha. Oh well, breakfast time!
