Author Bio

"How are you still alive?" The doctor's question still rings in his ears.

After being told by a battery of psychologists and psychiatrists that nothing could be done for him, Scott sat on the steps outside the final doctor's office, holding the results of his day-long exam with the Neuro-Psychiatrist.

Impaired organization, traumatic attachment disorder, difficulties with interpersonal relating, generalized anxiety, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, and chronic medically resistant major depression.

The doctor informed him that he had never seen anyone with his scores still alive at his age.

In his life, Scott had been told it would be difficult to work with other people, likely find it challenging to complete a high school education, would never be able to sustain long-term relationships, and should avoid all tasks that require prolonged focus.

Yet, as Scott pens this bio, he has a master's degree, has run his own business, led teams of 100s, has served in the Peace Corps, has been married for fourteen years, and has just completed the writing of his fourth novel. Mental health is a challenge, but the secret is in choices. A secret Scott is desperate to share with the world!

Scott lives in Jacksonville, Florida, with his wife, Jennifer. He has published Kuhn Ling (Castle Keep Press), the first in a YA book series, and Too Big to Fail (Seaboard Press), an adult humor book. Having written innumerable other romantic fables, movie scripts, and stories, Scott dreams of stories to write all day.

In 2019, Scott noted that poor mental health in the world had reached epidemic levels, with rage, hate, and depression the primary conditions. The world desperately needs peace and a roadmap to get there. With this in mind, he penned the first two novels in a planned series of seven, French Fry Heaven and Peace Frog. Set in present-day America, the stories focus on Sage and his multi-cultural crew of adventure-loving friends as they battle a slew of despicable characters trying to prevent them from delivering the solution to world peace.

While comfortable representing the two characters with pronounced mental illnesses, Scott felt it was imperative to ensure he represented all characters honestly, which is why he enlisted the help of over 20 sensitivity editors.

Peace Frog and French Fry Heaven have been written as a stand-alone novels with series potential, with a clear eye toward future commercial development. The sequels are in process.
